AETED/AEBED Top and Bottom Entry Dispersion Mixer

AETED/AEBED Top and Bottom Entry Dispersion Mixer

AE Mixers’ range of high shear top and bottom entry vessel mixers is designed for versatility and performance across a broad spectrum of industries, including food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, personal healthcare, biofuels, paints, resins, inks, and general chemical processing. With their intense mixing action, these mixers provide significantly improved product consistency and dramatically reduced processing times compared to conventional low shear alternatives.

Both top and bottom entry models feature a wide selection of precision-engineered, interchangeable rotor/stator workheads, offering users outstanding flexibility for various critical processes. Whether you need homogenisation, emulsification, blending, dispersion, solids suspension, solubilisation, or particle size reduction, AE Mixers are engineered to deliver efficient and reliable results.

Batch sizes: 25L - 5000L The AE mixers dispersion mixer delivers a high-speed, medium shear action, providing enhanced mixing intensity for applications that require more than standard agitation but less than the high shear of our rotor stator mixers. Equipped with a robust slotted rotor and high pumping capacity, it ensures excellent product movement throughout the vessel. Suitable for both high and low viscosity mixing, this mixer ensures liquid blending and the thorough dispersion of powders, solids, and thickeners. Available in top and bottom entry configurations, with non-pressure, CIP and pressure sealing options.

Frequently Asked Questions

The right mixer is determined by the process rather than the product category. The main factors are viscosity, batch volume or required flow rate, solids content, operating temperature, the level of shear the product can tolerate, and your cleaning and hygiene standards. A product that needs a stable emulsion or fine particle size reduction will usually call for high shear mixing, while simple blending or keeping solids in suspension may only need an agitator. Our engineers can specify the right configuration for your process — contact the team to discuss your application.

High shear mixers use a rotor-stator assembly to generate intense mechanical and hydraulic shear, breaking down agglomerates, reducing particle and droplet size and producing stable emulsions. Agitators and fluid mixers move product around the vessel more gently, which suits liquid blending, maintaining suspension, improving heat transfer and preventing solids from settling. Choosing between them depends on whether the product needs to be physically broken down or simply moved and combined — and on whether ingredients could be damaged by more aggressive processing.

Yes. We offer tailored process trials so you can see how our equipment performs with your own formulation before committing. Our technical team handles the setup, supports the trial and provides detailed feedback on the results. Trials are particularly useful where product behaviour is hard to predict — high-viscosity products, difficult-to-wet powders, or emulsions that need to stay stable through production.
